I Can Maths (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of parents, guardians and learners. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights — in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
I Can Maths provides primary-school maths support and enrichment in Cape Town · Northern Suburbs. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@ican-maths.com.
What we collect
- The parent’s or guardian’s name and email address, submitted through our contact form or by email.
- Basic information about the learner you choose to share — such as their grade and the help they need.
- If you become a client: assessment notes, attendance records and lesson progress, kept to deliver and improve the lessons.
We only collect what we need. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising or analytics on this website.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, arrange and deliver lessons, and keep you informed about your child’s progress. Because lessons are for a child, we rely on the consent of a competent person — the parent or guardian — given when you contact us. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Children’s information
We take particular care with children’s personal information. We collect the minimum needed, only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and we never share a child’s information for marketing.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, under appropriate safeguards:
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and processes contact-form requests.
- Resend — delivers contact-form enquiries to our inbox as email.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond and, if you become a client, for the duration of our work together plus any period required by law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
How we protect it
Your information is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored securely. Access is limited to those who need it to provide the service.
Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ican-maths.com. You also have the right to complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator.

We may update this notice from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the most recent revision.
